Tebogo Cynthia Ngoma is a passionate advocate for sustainable living and a devoted wife and mother of three. Originally from Botswana, she currently resides in Lusaka, Zambia, where the country recently faced a cholera outbreak, underscoring the critical imoportance of waste management initiatives. The lack of government-led waste management efforts and insufficient community sensitization on proper waste disposal are significant contributing factors to this crisis. With her firsthand experience, Tebogo understands the urgency of addressing these issues and aims to contribute her insights at the Waste Management Conference in Botswana.
Tebogo's commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in her personal life as well as her professional endeavors. She is the Managing Director of Eco Equilibrium, a company that succeeded Portion Investments and is focused on sustainable energy solutions across the SADC region. With over 7 years of experience managing the supply and delivery of school uniforms, Tebogo implemented impactful measures by promoting the use of recycled and biodegradable packaging materials, replacing conventional packaging with eco-friendly alternatives made from recycled paper or biodegradable materials.
In her most recent role as a Business Development Analyst at Bridelia Micrantha in Lusaka, Zambia, Tebogo actively identified and integrated environmentally conscious practices within the petroleum industry. Additionally, she is the founder of Powermoms Club, an initiative aimed at raising awareness of sustainable living for families with the slogan "Inspire a mom, Empower a generation". Recently, she graduated from a professional course called Future Female Leaders in Energy, facilitated by a collaboration between the African Management Institute and the University of Cape Town, highlighting her dedication to sustainability and leadership in the energy sector. She is also pursuing an MBA at the University of the People, reflecting her holistic approach to sustainability and her commitment to driving a positive impact on waste management practices in Botswana and beyond.
